Best Schools Albany NY

If you want your child to attend one of the best schools in Albany, NY, maybe you should consider a Montessori School. Centered around the Montessori philosophy and curriculum, this study in child development encourages the spiritual, artistic, physical, and intellectual aspects of the child's own personal growth. The Montessori philosophy that is filtered out through private schools is proven to increase a student's motivation and help them grow on all levels.

Enrolling your child in private schools as opposed to public schools enhances their learning ability. They are less distracted by classmates because the class sizes are smaller. As one of the best schools in the area, our teachers pride themselves on giving individual attention to each student.

Preschool Programs Albany NY

The Montessori philosophy is engaging and communicative. We want our children to enter into an open partnership with their parents about their education. When you enroll your child at a young age into our preschool programs, they'll build this sense of self-worth and communication for their entire lives.

In return, this helps encourage the student to be self-motivated and disciplined. They will develop a positive self-image and healthy self-esteem that leads children to reach their full potential as adults. In addition, the Montessori philosophy extends outside the classroom. The best schools will teach children to bring their sense of self-responsibility to the world around them, inciting positive change. That's what we do here at Woodland Hill Montessori School.

Both of my children attend Woodland Hill. Guess what they tell me every day when I ask them how school was? "Great! Awesome! I wish I could stay forever!" Seriously. They really say those things. Every day. Then they proceed to excitedly tell me about all the cool things they did, before I can even make it back to the main road. They don't mind when vacation ends, and they don't wish for snow days. The teachers and staff exude kindness, respect, and a deep understanding of education. The Montessori method is respected and fully implemented. I have learned so much about how Montessori really works since my kids started there, because Woodland Hill also offers wonderful, hands-on parent education events throughout the year. Their specials (gym, art, music, language) programs are outstanding, and the community of parents is wonderful. There is so much more to add--if you schedule a visit, you will see for yourself: smiling, engaged children everywhere you turn, from the very little ones all the way up to the Jr. High students. It's truly remarkable. I feel so happy and very appreciative and grateful knowing that my kids are in a great place every day, where their minds and spirits are being truly nourished.

Pros: Caring, gentle and joyful environment. Enriching educational philosophy and programs; kids are taught how to learn, not just what to learn. No standardized testing of young kids. Outdoor play and a true physical education program is a regular part of the curriculum.

Cons: Paying for elementary school is not something we had planned ahead for, nor were financially comfortable doing immediately. However, the school went out of their way to help us get up and running with a tuition payment plan that works for our family, and they continue to do so. We are very grateful for their flexibility.
